General Plastics

1. PE (Polyethylene): Lightweight and flexible, resistant to chemicals and moisture; poor heat resistance and printability. Used for packaging, containers and wire insulation.
2. PP (Polypropylene): The lightest plastic, better strength and rigidity than PE with good heat resistance; prone to brittleness at low temperature and poor weather resistance. Applied in containers, auto parts and electrical components.
3. PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride): Good strength, insulation and acid & alkali resistance; moderate heat resistance. Rigid grade for pipes and valves; flexible grade for wire sheath and films.
4. PS (Polystyrene): Transparent, rigid, easy to mould and low-cost; brittle, scratch-prone and easy to age. Used for lamp covers, decorations and daily goods.
5. ABS: Tough, impact-resistant, fatigue-resistant and platable on surface; poor weather resistance. Used for housings and automotive parts.

Engineering Plastics

1. PA (Polyamide / Nylon): High strength, wear-resistant, self-lubricating and oil-resistant; high water absorption causes dimensional variation. For bearings and gears.
2. PC (Polycarbonate): Extremely high impact strength, transparent and heat-resistant; poor scratch resistance. Used for safety helmets, electronic parts and transparent components.
3. POM (Polyoxymethylene): Rigid, wear-resistant and fatigue-resistant with metal-like performance; large moulding shrinkage. For precision parts such as gears and cams.
4. PMMA (Acrylic): Excellent optical performance and good weather resistance; easy to get surface scratches. Used for lenses, instrument panels and safety glazing.

High-Performance / Specialty Plastics

1. PTFE (Teflon): Resistant to high & low temperatures, highly corrosion-resistant and ultra-low friction coefficient; low strength and cold flow property. For seals, insulation and non-stick coatings.
2. PPS (Polyphenylene Sulfide): Ultra-high rigidity, heat-resistant and corrosion-resistant. Used in electronics, automotive and chemical industries.
3. PEEK (Polyetheretherketone): Outstanding comprehensive performance with top-tier strength, heat resistance and radiation resistance. Applied in aerospace, medical implants and high-end fields.
4. PSU (Polysulfone): High strength, high heat resistance and hydrolysis stability. Used in electronics, food equipment and medical devices.

Property Comparison & Material Selection Guide

1. For high strength / rigidity: Reinforced PA, POM, PPS are preferred.
2. For high toughness / impact resistance: PC and ABS are benchmark materials.
3. For wear resistance / self-lubrication: PA, POM and PTFE are top choices.
4. For high heat resistance: PPS, PEEK and thermoset plastics are recommended.
5. For electrical insulation: PTFE, PS and PP are preferred options.
6. For dimensional stability: Avoid PA; select reinforced PC, POM, etc.
7. For optical transparency: PMMA and PC are the first choice.
